Attracts some of the finest comics on the circuit.”

LONDON IS FUNNY

The Comedy Tree was in its 14th year of live comedy, making it a landmark London comedy club and one of West London's longest running comedy nights. Not bad for something started by a couple of drunks.

The Comedy Tree has long been one of London's most popular comedy clubs, renowned for its high quality shows and a fun, intimate atmosphere. Some of the world's best comics have performed at the club, including Russell Brand, Flight of the Conchords, Stephen Merchant, Stewart Lee, Omid Djalili, Lee Mack, Milton Jones, Micky Flanagan, Sarah Millican, Jack Whitehall, Mark Watson, Rhod Gilbert and Dave Gorman.

The club was opened in 2002 by comics Pete Jonas and Erich McElroy. While the actual details are forever blurred by alcohol, their dream was to start a comedy night that wasn't as shit as the clubs they were playing at the time.

Combining Pete's evil corporate marketing skills and Erich's ability to smile and nod, the two approached management at a pub in Putney and told them a massive pack of lies. The landlord bought it and new chapter in London's comedy scene was born.
